Skype security issues
One of the features of Skype is its high secure communications. You simple cannot turn off/on the encryption. In the encryption process the user is not associated with and furthermore there is no reason to deal with issues regarding public key infrastructure. It is reportedly stated that Skype uses non-proprietary and very trusted encryption techniques. It uses RSA to encrypt key negotiation, and AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) to encrypt conversations.
Another security feature that Skype offers to users is an uncontrolled registration system. This registration system does not require any identification proof of a user. You may use the system without giving up your real identity to other users and you will not be able to say for sure that the other person's identity is real. So it happens both ways. The result of this is that there is the possibility of using the real name of a trusted person as a nickname for Skype in other to trick the other person into giving up or revealing his/her identity or other information as necessary.

Take note that the difference between Skype and VoIP clients is that Skype's operation is based around a peer-to-peer model instead of the more traditional server-client model. This is simple Skype protocol. The Skype user directory is totally decentralized and spread among the network nodes. This simple means that the network has the possibility of easily scaling large sizes (presently around 240 million users) without an expensive centralized and complex infrastructure.
